Mr. Richard Lovegrove serves as a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at Worcester Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, where he employs advanced keyhole surgical techniques and enhanced recovery protocols to optimise patient outcomes.

Graduating from King’s College School of Medicine and Dentistry, Mr. Lovegrove completed his House Jobs and Basic Surgical Training in the Northwest Thames region of the London Deanery. Subsequently, he pursued a research degree at Imperial College London, focusing on outcomes following ileal pouch surgery and contributing to the establishment of the UK National Ileal Pouch Registry, now utilised across Europe.

His higher surgical training took place in the Oxford Deanery, with specialised experience in inflammatory bowel disease surgery at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, where he later became the Senior Clinical Fellow in IBD Surgery.

Mr. Lovegrove further honed his expertise through an international fellowship at the University of Toronto, serving as the Clinical Fellow in Colorectal Surgery. During this tenure, he gained valuable experience in complex IBD surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital and St Michael’s Hospital.

Mr. Lovegrove has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, and reports, and has presented his work both nationally and internationally.

His practice encompasses the treatment of various conditions, including colorectal cancer, Crohn's Disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticular disease, haemorrhoids, anal fissure, anal fistula, and hernia.
